mk metro has announced its first fare revision in two years as a result of increasing costs, especially fuel. However, our 4 week metro saver remains frozen and continues to offer excellent value to regular users.
The majority of our single fares will increase by 10p and our great value day ticket will increase from £3.00 to £3.20. Our weekly ticket increases from £10 to £11 but is now easier to purchase as customers can buy it on bus direct from the driver without the need to obtain a Metro Saver Card. This also means it is transferable and therefore offers greater value than before - Mum can use it to travel to work, Dad can use it to go out on a Friday evening and son or daughter can use it to go shopping on a Saturday.
Summary of the changes:
Singles fares up to £1.90 will increase by 10p
Single fares over £1.90 will increase by 20p
Metro Saver Day ticket will cost £3.20
Metro Saver Week will cost £11, but can be purchased direct from the driver
Metro Saver Month still £37 (now for 4 weeks) Fares in Northampton will also increase as will Child fares, especially in rural areas.
Buses run by the ARRIVA The Shires & Essex at their Aylesbury depot will see their fares rise between 10p & 30p due to rising fuel & operating costs.
